FAQ
I know what a Frenchton is, but I don't understand what a Bulliebear is.
I'll be happy to explain about Bulliebears. It is one of four blended breeds coming from the Queen Elizabeth Pocket Beagle Foundation of breeds created from our pocket beagles. This was done as a club activity spanning 20 years of collaborative work between breeders from many states of the USA.Â
So keep in mind that a Frenchton was already a blend.... a mixed breed dog. But our breed club wanted to help their health and took that farther. Our Frenchtons were outcrossed again. Bulliebears' Frenchton grandparents and great grandparent were outcrossed with select toy breeds to improve their offsprings' health and strengthen their joints.  A wider gene pool eliminates breathing difficulties and the particular heat sensitivity some of the mini bulldog blends have. It can lengthen their lifespan. Usually it's 15 years.
Space Coast Pocket Pups puppies will strongly favor their Frenchton heritage but their ears are unlikely to stand straight up and this was planned for.  Some people prefer their dog's ears to be button (fold over) or rose (crinkled back) in a way that more resembles those of the English Bulldog rather than the stand up prick ear of the Frenchton.  Â
In temperament Bulliebear also try harder to please their öwners than a Frenchton does. Frenchtons are a little independent and stubborn in attitude. Bulliebears are more sensitive to your mood and are good with children and are used for emotional support therapy. They also are sensitive to physical changes in your body and some are in service for diabetes and seizures. But primarily they make a well loved family pet.
Every Queen Elizabeth Pocket Beagle breeder sells their puppies through this website maintained by the Queen Elizabeth Pocket Breeds Foundation. Prospective puppy buyers have a unique opportunity to do their own comparative shopping in one place as every puppy available anywhere will be listed here.
